We will only be allowed to eat out one meal per month each; whether that meal be together or separate. This means that all of O's lunches will need to be taken with him to work, and no more playdate lunches for me. We have committed firmly to this rule for 3 months, and we will reevaluate whether we can continue with it this strictly for the remainder of the year.
2) NO NEW PURCHASES
The only exceptions to this rule will be for basic toiletries (soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste), undergarments (including jammies for the baby - these are hard to find at consignment sales), and safety equipment (carseats). Everything else will be borrowed or purchased used from consignment, Craig's list, or one of my mom's message boards.
The point of this is threefold: first, to reduce the impact we have as consumers on the environment; second, to stop adding to the clutter in our lives; and third, to hopefully save some money by eliminating the frivolous purchases.
